Ecstasy users: Vulnerability factors for depression and anxiety symptomatology

There is evidence that ecstasy users have higher levels of psychopathology. However, debate remains over whether ecstasy use causes psychopathology, precipitates symptoms in those with heightened vulnerability to mental illness or whether the relationship is simply circumstantial. This study aims to understand which factors predict depressive symptomatology in an ecstasy using population, and which of these make people more likely to experience a drop in mood in the days following ecstasy use. Recruitment for this project has recently commenced.
